The purchase of any travel services offered by DogSledding Iceland – constitutes a contractual agreement. We therefore recommend that you read and understand these Policies prior to booking.

Once payment is confirmed, you will receive an email with an attachment containing your ticket and invoice with a booking number and a list of services purchased. Please check the details of your confirmation carefully to ensure they are exactly as you requested.

Please note that it is the responsibility of the client to communicate their pickup location to DogSledding Iceland at least 48 hours before the beginning of a tour, for those tours with transfer. If the pickup location is not specified at the time of booking, DogSledding Iceland cannot be held responsible if you miss your tour due to not submitting the correct pickup location in a timely manner.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellations must be made by e-mail.  In conformity with business practices within the Icelandic travel industry. DogSledding Iceland is obliged to charge cancellation fees to the client as follows:

For individuals ( regular rate & group smaller than 8pax)

• 48 hours or less prior to departure – No refund
• Over 49 hours prior to departure – 90% of the total amount refunded.

For groups (group of 8 pax or more) or private/customised tours

• 48 hours prior to departure – No refund
• 13 days up to 49 hours prior to departure – 50% of the total amount refunded
• 30 days up to 14 days prior to departure – 75% of the total amount refunded
• Over 30 days prior to departure – 90% of the total amount refunded

Please note that third party transaction fees and currency exchange may occur.

Any trip cancelled or interrupted by the client or because of the actions of the client will result in no refund.

With the purchase of a tour through the website, you accept these conditions and confirm that you understand them and that you accept responsibility for your participation in your tour.

NO SHOW

When a passenger is not present at the submitted pickup place at the beginning of the pickup time, the driver-guide is obliged to continue the pickup of other passengers and is allowed to start the tour without the missing passenger (in order to not delay the tour for the rest of the passengers). This is considered a “No Show” and no refund will  be provided.

Please note that your pick up time will be confirmed to you the day before by e-mail.

When a participant is not present at the set meeting time is considered a “No Show” and no refund will  be provided, meeting time is given in the confirmation email the day before, usually 15-30min prior to the tour time.

SELF DRIVERS

A 4×4 vehicle is recommended but it is not mandatory.

DogSledding Iceland does not assume any responsibility for:

Any wrong instructions given by a third party including GPS or Sat Nav

Road/ weather conditions, or driving behaviour, including any events that occur during the drive to our location.

Directions to your tour location will be sent directly via email the day before your tour.

It is recommended to stay in Reykjavík the day before your tour as further roads can be closed due to weather.

It is the client's responsibility to make sure they are driving to the right location. In case of doubt, please contact DSI directly.

INSURANCE

DogSledding Iceland strongly recommends to all its clients to purchase travel insurance from a reputable provider in their country of origin, prior to their journey to Iceland. It is important for all travellers to protect themselves in case of unforeseen problems or additional costs.

LIABILITY

Iceland is a country where weather conditions can change rapidly. DogSledding Iceland reserves the right to alter tours due to adverse weather or road conditions or any other reason. All tours can be changed or cancelled at any moment during the trip to assure the safety of the clients and staff. All participants on tours are advised that they participate in all activities at their own risk.

All customers need to be able to be reachable either by the email or phone number provided during the time of the booking. DSI can not be held responsible if the customer cannot be reached out while in Iceland or before the tour due to wrong, not accurate information provided to DogSledding Iceland.

Dogsledding Iceland reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure if the minimum number of participants is not reached.

Dogsledding Iceland reserves all rights to delay, alter/ shorten or cancel tours due to weather or any unsafe conditions for safety reasons. Or to remove individuals where participant(s) do(es) not follow the guides directions including but not restricted to entering underground openings, traversing unsafe terrain, driving rules, time constraint issues or failure to follow your guides instruction prior or during the tour.

Any tour started is not refundable.

DogSledding Iceland acts as a tour operator and does not assume responsibility for accidents or deaths that can be traced to the participant´s negligence, acts of third parties or exterior circumstances beyond DogSledding Iceland control (force majeure) such as weather, natural occurrences, war or other similar causes. No responsibility is accepted for losses, expenses due to delays, changes of flights, or other services or because of strikes, accidents, sickness, damage, negligence, weather, war, changes in schedules, or other similar causes beyond our control.

All such losses and expenses are the personal liability of the traveller.

TOURS

The estimated duration of tours as indicated on our website, are standard times and can vary.

In all arrangements involving third parties DogSledding Iceland acts only as the agent of the Client and no liability of any kind whatsoever shall be attached to DogSledding Iceland in connection with or arising from such arrangement with a third party.

Tours can be operated on Kart (wheels) or sled depending on the weather conditions and what Mother Nature has to offer.

Sled tours cannot be chosen, unless you purchase a sled insurance  (ISK 3.000 pp)

Sled Insurance option is limited per selected departures, In case the tour will run on wheels, the booking will get automatically cancelled and a full refund is provided minus the Sled  Guarantee Insurance ( ISK 3 000 ) non-refundable.

ONLINE BOOKINGS

Services booked directly at the DogSledding Iceland website require a valid credit card that is charged upon booking. We accept Visa and Mastercard payments.

PRICES

All prices quoted on the DogSledding Iceland website, are in Icelandic kronas (ISK) and calculated per person (regular departures), unless otherwise specified. Our currency converter is for guidance purposes only. Prices are subject to change without notice in the event of currency fluctuations, government taxes, or any such cost increase, which is beyond DogSledding Iceland’s control.

After the payment has been confirmed, the price is guaranteed against any surcharge, unless an increase is due to government laws or currency changes. Should the surcharge exceed 10%, clients will be entitled to cancel their booking with a full refund.

All refunds are processed in ISK. As Dogsledding Iceland does not charge any booking or transaction fees, no responsibility can be held to any loss in currency exchange during transactions. nor for any third party transaction fees that may occur at the time of payment and/or refund, such as fees imposed by your bank or other international transfer fees.

PROMO CODES

Please keep in mind that the discount cannot be processed in the form of a refund after a purchase has been made.

Promo code can only be used prior to booking.

PRIVACY POLICY

All personal information will be strictly confidential and will not be given or sold to a third party.

WARRANTIES

While Dogsledding Iceland strives to provide accurate information, the website may contain inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information. Dogsledding Iceland takes no responsibility for errors or omissions in the content of the website, and makes no commitment to update such information. Dogsledding Iceland shall not be liable for any damages relating to the use of, or reliance upon, the website or such information, features, material or services.

PERSONAL IMAGE RIGHTS

You authorise expressly and without any compensation, DOG SLEDDING ICELAND, to use any of the photographs taken of you or your children during your trip, for publicity purposes of the DOG SLEDDING ICELAND.

PICK-UPS/DROP-OFFS

In the center city, there are certain restricted areas where it is not possible to pick up directly from accommodation. Clients will then be directed to a designated bus stop that has been created by the Reykjavík Council.

Clients will be picked up from the location you registered for at the time of the booking.

A list of the hotel and bus stop is available on DogSledding website, they can also be found on google map.

Pick-up times will be confirmed by email the day before, but can be expected to be up to 1h45 prior to tour time.

The pick up usually takes about 15min unless an unforeseen event occurs.

Drop-offs are provided at the same places as pick-ups unless otherwise arranged with the driver/guides, or at the time of the booking.

Pick up price is fro Reykjavik city only

SPECIAL NEEDS

Special needs participants should inquire about the tour prior to booking.

REQUIREMENTS

Not suitable during pregnancy

Min age: 6 years old – (4yo from May to September)

Minors (under 18 years old) must be accompanied by a parent or tutor on the ride

Participant should be physically fit – Max weight 95kg pp and BMI below 30

Dog sledding Iceland has the right to refuse anyone that do not fulfil this requirements:

• With a 90% refund, if the reservation is cancelled right away.
• Without any refund, if the cancellation has to be made by DSI on location, because of wrong information given.

Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to come on the tour or near the dogs no refund will occur.

COMMENTS OR COMPLAINTS

DogSledding Iceland welcomes all clients to comment and provide feedback of the tours. The recommended way is to send an e-mail.

If you are not satisfied with the services for any reason email DSI as soon as possible.

TAXES

Prices given by DogSledding Iceland already include taxes.

GOVERNING LAW/ JURISDICTION

These Terms and Conditions are in accordance with Icelandic law.
